Funding to support excellence

Gower College Swansea encourages all its learners to achieve their full potential and our scholarship programme aims to assist learners with exceptional ability, in a range of fields, to develop their talents.

In particular, a small fund of £3000 (within the Scholarship Fund) is available to provide learners with financial assistance (up to a maximum of £100 each) to take part in an academic / creative / performance related activity which supports the achievement of excellence.  For example, it could be used to provide assistance towards travel, study or audition costs.

Criteria and Application for Assistance

To apply for financial assistance an application form must be completed and returned to the Head of Learner Services and Support.  It should include details of the specific activity, the costs involved as well as details of why the activity supports excellence and why it will be beneficial.

In addition learners will be required to sign an agreement, allowing relevant information to be used for marketing purposes as well as allowing the College to contact learners, for up to 2 years after leaving the College, to discuss being involved in follow up activities such as Open Evenings, talks to current learners and assisting with mock interviews with current learners.
